Advocate Biography

Dr Rout studied in some of the worlds best institutes of both India & abroad Netherlands, Sweden, Hungary with both Masters & Doctorate degree. Dr Rout in past worked with United Nations, Academic Institutions and Government led organisation. He has founded a not for profit organisation Local Governance Network to encourage innovation in city management. He do conduct various knowledge workshops to ignite city decision makers, children, civil society etc on about what they are doing and what the cities around the globe are doing. LGNet is today one of the leading Organisation when it calls for local democracy. He has travelled extensively all over the state, country and world wide in learning & delivering lectures on sustainable urbanisation.

Dr Rout has been identified by United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction as advocate for UNDRR Making Cities Resilient Campaign. Through which he discusses with various city decision makers i.e. Mayors, Parliamentarian, City Managers, Civil Servants, Community Groups, Civil Society leaders etc on how to make Worlds Urbanisation more resilient. Dr Rout is instrumental behind city wall painting, organising street vendors, city level cycling tracks, public transport systems etc.

His work on Berhampur Water Bodies renovation recently won the National Urban Water Award from Ministry of Urban Development Govt. of India and SASAKAWA Award to Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation way back in 2009. He advocates not only just for Sustainable Urbanisation but also for Low Carbon Lifestyle. His hobby is Bicycling, Walking and writing columns & delivering lectures on themes that changing the society at large.

He too won the Brand Ambassador status from Odisha Environment Congress.
