Advocate Biography

I’m a highly committed professional with more than 20 years of International experience providing consultancy services and technical assistance to design and implement highly effective sustainable development strategies and action plans at regional and local level for a better integration along the community and to create the right balance between social, economic and environmental development with tangible and positive impact on the ground. My work experience included up to 38 countries.

Key competencies developed:

Implementation of Project Management methodologies: tools and techniques, providing analysis, strategic and common vision and a successful stakeholder engagement to develop and implement programmes, projects and action plans more effectively, along the 5 phases of the Project Cycle Management; Technical assistance, training and managing of project budgets up to £ 7.5 million; Enabling services at international, national, regional and local level to improve performance and to become more effective, competitive, socially progressive and environmentally responsible. The key balance between social, economic and environmental development; Leading diverse management processes and multicultural teams, both in the private and public sector delivering projects on time and within budget and covering developing as well as developed countries; Effective integration of programmes and projects for a better management of the Portfolioö Invited speaker/expert at the European Sustainable Development Conference in Geneva (2012), the Somalia Economic Summit in Dubai (2014), OECD Forum 2015, PhD Summer School at the University of Bologna (2015) among other events.

Campaign Activities

• Incorporation of the 7 Municipalities of Lanzarote to the campaign.

• Collaboration with the University of La Laguna to add another 81 Municipalities from the Canary Archipelago to the campaign.

• Organisation in 2014 together with the regional government of an event to commemorate the Day of Disaster Risk Reduction in Lanzarote.

• Organisation in Lanzarote and together with regional and local authorities and GETI of the first training on the EU on how to design and implement Resilient Action Plans.

• Negotiations with the regional government of the Canary Islands to replicate the same training in other islands and to provide local support to develop the Resilient Action Plans in each Island.

• Negotiations with the City of Bologna in Italy to join the campaign.

• Coordination with GETI to provide the same training in Latin America and also a train the trainers version for my advocates colleagues already working there.
