Khaled Rajab Abu Aisheh has a bachelor degree in Architecture and Urban Planning, I have been passionately engaging myself in DRR practice and activities in my current work at the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA) Aqaba, Jordan. This works includes but not limited to: Establishment of a DRR unit with strong institutional bases for implementing DRR at local level. Supervising the efforts for mainstreaming DRR into the city of Aqaba local land use planning processes. Forming a grass rooted Aqaba Neighborhoods Disaster Volunteers (NDVs) team with a strong participation of women among the volunteers, and Preparing DRRMP for the city of Aqaba. All these efforts have contributed to recognizing the city of Aqaba by UNDRR as a role model city in localizing DRR. Moreover; just recently, I have been engaged with SDC to harness city–to-city cooperation and coordination in DRR practice in Jordan. My interests are designing building, graphics, and scuba diving and, camping.
Campaign ActivitiesActively contributed to the completion of the Local Government Self-Assessment Tool (LG-SAT) of Aqaba city.
Participated in UNDRR regional workshops to train local government officials on how to implement the LG-SAT.
Represened Aqaba local authority at Preparatory Committee Meetings of the United Cities and Local Governments (UCLG).
Involved in preparing the Post-2015 Roadmap for the Information and Knowledge Management for Disaster Risk Reduction (IKM4DRR) network.
Advocated Risk-Sensitive –land use planning and urban resiliency both at the national and regional level at the Arab region.
In the process of testing the new Ten Essentials in city Aqaba.
