Advocate Biography

Holding a Bachelor’s degree in Social Education and a Master’s Degree in International Sustainable Development, coupled with trainings in Disaster Risk Reduction, Ana Lucy Bengochea Martinez have been actively working in development field. In 2005, she led WAGUCHA, a grass-root women organization, programs working on risk reduction, resilience and climate change with local communities. She is an expert in organizing knowledge and experience exchanges, community vulnerability mapping, planning for disaster risk reduction and resilience, with a clear and passionate gender perspective. She is also an advocate of the Inter Alliance for Community Resilience in Honduras.

By becoming an Advocate for the Making Cities Resilient Campaign, she wants to further promote community resilience at national and international level.
