In this presentation the Local to Global Protection (L2GP) group showcase their ‘support/community-led response’ (sclr) approach to dealing with crisis in the Philippines, Myanmar, Sudan and OPT. This approach has shown to work at speed, be effective and efficient, gender and conflict sensitive while supporting the disaster affected communities to recover quickly; economically and psychosocially. Sclr is an important innovation in community-based DRR. It provides a holistic approach to managing everyday disasters through DRR, as well as crisis response that is locally managed, and will reduce the requirement of help from the already stretched humanitarian system.
