Disaster risk reduction governance refers to the way in which public authorities, public officials, media, the corporate sector and civil society coordinate at the local, national and regional levels in order to manage and reduce disaster- and climate-related risks.
Investing in disaster risk reduction governance should be seen as an urgent need and an opportunity to mark the transition from government as the central organizing point to the totality of the ways in which communities are organized.
