With increasing numbers of disasters occurring in settings worldwide, and research revealing the extent of distress experienced by communities, it is essential to provide policy and programmes to address emotional needs related to disaster risk and recovery. Creative techniques are needed to provide for the needs of communities to achieve not only structural resilience, but also psychosocial resilience, empowerment and community re-cohesion. A unique approach to achieving a coordinated and comprehensive response is presented that integrates effective on-the-ground trainings and workshops with survivors, with exciting new application of technology tools, artificial intelligence and robotics.
