Australian Humanitarian Partnership (AHP): Disaster READY Program

Disaster READY is a disaster preparedness and resilience program that is implemented by AHP partners and their local networks across the Pacific and Timor-Leste. Using local, Pacific-based partners, Disaster READY supports Pacific communities and governments to better prepare for & respond to disasters. The program places specific emphasis on the inclusion of women, disabled people and faith-based organisations. The presentation will describe the inclusive design process of this innovative DRR program, list the key achievements to date, reflect on what has been implemented so far and outline upcoming initiatives designed to strengthen vulnerable local resilient capacities.
