Assessing DRR added value in reducing humanitarian needs

Oxfam have recently conducted a series of Rapid Impact Assessments (RIA) to assess how DRR work has contributed to reduce humanitarian needs, help communities to better prepare, and respond and cope with disasters in locations affected by floods or hurricanes. The positive findings of these evaluations have been used as evidence to call for more DRR investment by countries and donors. This presentation will provide evidence on the added value of DRR and the need to invest further in prevention, mitigation and preparedness to reduce future humanitarian needs.
