This presentation will showcase the findings of a 2019 PhD that traces Arab city progress on the Hyogo Framework for Action (HFA) 2005-2015 ‘Making Cities Resilience campaign'. It will also address the evolution of the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction (SFDRR) 2017 'Disaster Resilience Scorecard for Cities - New Ten Essentials' and explain how this can help city leaders in conflict and fragile settings to understand the complexity of risk, apply holistic resilience assessment approaches, whilst also determining the values of sustainable cities resilience action plans, building coherence between the SFDRR priorities and the Sustainable Development Goals global targets.
