With reference to the development of the ‘Words into Action Guidelines – Disaster displacement: How to reduce risk, address impacts and strengthen resilience’, a document that aims to provide guidance for governments on how to include disaster displacement-related provisions in their national and local disaster risk reduction planning, this session will discuss the importance of including disaster displacement in regional, national and local DRR strategies, showcase how the guide facilitates inclusion and provide concrete examples of how it has been used to date.
