1st AMCDRR

The 1st AMCDRR was organized by the Government of People’s Republic of China in Beijing, China on 27-29 September 2005 to facilitate the implementation of HFA and the outcome of the 2nd World Conference on Disaster Reduction. The meeting adopted the Beijing Action for Disaster Risk Reduction. This first conference after adoption of the HFA set the stage for regional implementation of DRR in Asia and formalized the ministerial conferences in order to create and sustain the political commitment for implementation and monitoring of the HFA.

2nd AMCDRR
The 2nd AMCDRR was hosted by the Government of Republic of India in New Delhi, India from 7-8 November 2007. The meeting adopted the Delhi Declaration on Disaster Risk Reduction in Asia 2007 with focus of regional cooperation and partnership development towards disaster risk reduction.

3rd AMCDRR

The 3rd AMCDRR was convened by the Government of Malaysia in Kuala Lumpur from 2-4 December 2008. Its overarching theme was “Multi-stakeholder Partnership for Disaster Risk Reduction in the Asia and Pacific region,” with a particular focus on Public Private Partnership for DRR and community-based disaster risk reduction. The conference adopted the Kuala Lumpur Declaration on Disaster Risk Reduction in Asia 2008.

4th AMCDRR

The 4th AMCDRR was held in Incheon, Korea from 25-28 October 2010 hosted by the Government of Republic of Korea. With the main theme of “Disaster Risk Reduction through Climate Change Adaptation” the 4th AMCDRR adopted the Incheon Declaration on DRR in Asia and the Pacific 2010 .

5th AMCDRR

The 5th AMCDRR was hosted by the Government of Republic of Indonesia in Yogyakarta, Indonesia from 22-25 October 2012 with the main theme of “Strengthening Local Capacity for Disaster Risk Reduction”. The Yogyakarta Declaration on DRR in Asia and the Pacific 2012 includes for the first time statements of commitment of 10 stakeholder groups and regional inputs for the post-2015 framework for DRR (HFA2).

6th AMCDRR

The 6th AMCDRR was hosted by the Royal Thai Government in Bangkok, Thailand from 22-26 June 2014 with the main theme of “Promoting Investments for Resilient Nations and Communities”. The conference produced the ‘Bangkok Declaration’ and provided an opportunity for countries and stakeholders in the region to review the progress of HFA implementation and determine priority actions necessary to accelerate the progress toward achieving the HFA goals in its final year. The 6th AMCDRR continued on generating more concrete commitments form the stakeholder groups. The Conference also consolidated the outcomes of extensive consultations on the post-2015 framework for DRR since March 2012 for a coherent “Asia Pacific Inputs for the HFA2” which will serve as reference for regional governments in the global discussions and negotiation toward the adoption of the framework at the 3WCDRR.
