This ERS-2 SAR image, centerd around Huarong (200 km Southwest of Wuhan) and the Yangtze River, was acquired by the station of Ulan Bator (Mongolia) on the 1st of August 1998.

A government relief site in Kutch, western Gujarat. Drought hit villagers are employed as daily laborers constructing water catchment which are a series of interconnecting grids which capture rainwater preventing the run off of the monsoon rains.
Bhuj, India, February 2001
This four-meter resolution satellite image, taken by Space Imaging's IKONOS satellite on Feb. 2, 2001 at approximately 10:30 a.m. (local time), shows an overview of the town of Bhuj, located in the northwestern state of Gujarat, India. The image insets show extensive damage to individual buildings as a result of the earthquake that struck Bhuj on Jan. 26.
