The Flood Expo boasts over 100 seminars, led by world-renowned experts from the NASA’s Risk Reductions & Response Program; the United Nations Climate Change Secretariat; the Met Office, and the MOD.

Professor Lindsey McEwen from the Centre for Floods, Communities and Resilience (CFCR) at UWE will be running an unmissable seminar, critically evaluating knowledge networks that informs small businesses in how they can make their premises flood resilient. Simon Crowther is an engineer who works with businesses and councils to improve their response to emergency flood situations. He will be talking about the developments in flood defence over the last ten years, with a specific focus on the technological advances available to help businesses protect their premises.

Ian Gibbs from Cunningham Lindsey, will be teaming up with UWE’s Dr Jessica Lamond. They will draw upon the latest policy from DEFRA and demonstrate how this can be used to increase flood resilience in SMEs. Equally, Cunningham Lindsey’s Roy Shevlin will be running a seminar with Graham Brogden, Aviva, to outline cost effective methods businesses can adopt to reduce the risk of flooding.
