The booth will highlight four tools that are helping to assess the risk of food insecurity related to climate hazards. These include:
1) An interactive Food Security and Climate Change Vulnerability Index map that illustrates the impact on food security around the world depending on the climate change adaptation and mitigation actions taken.
2) Country-level food security and climate analyses: To help governments, communities, and partners better understand the links between food security, nutrition and climate risks for better national policies and programmes.
3) Additional risk assessment tools to identify the best approach to deal with climate risks, including the Consolidated Livelihood Exercise for Analysing Resilience (CLEAR) Approach
4) Forecast-based financing tools in support of early preparedness and community action to strengthen resilience to climate shocks. The tools (i) use climate forecasts to trigger early action and funds to build resilience and enhance preparedness of local communities before a disaster; (ii) support early response and building the capacity of national governments to respond to large-scale climate shocks; (iii) build post-disaster resilience through predictable multi-year financing to ensure that food and nutrition security are strengthened over time.
