Currently preparing for launch, the Caribbean Ocean and Aquaculture Sustainability Facility (COAST) proposes to promote the resilience of the small-scale fisheries sector in the Caribbean against increasing climate-change related natural disasters. The objective is to create a platform for innovative insurance financing that not only helps manage and prepare for severe weather events that impact fisheries, but also incentivizes small-island governments to support climate resilience initiatives such as coastal management and reef restoration.
