Participating governments, intergovernmental and international organisations, and stakeholder groups at the 2019 Global Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction will convene at a regional consultation for the Asia-Pacific region. Being convened half-way through the 2018 Asian Ministerial Conference and the 2020 Asia-Pacific Ministerial Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction, the regional consultation provides an opportunity to assess progress in the implementation of the Asia Regional Plan and accelerate its progress.

In particular, the regional consultation will:

1. Assess progress in achievement of Target E of the Sendai Framework on DRR strategies;

2. Discuss status of progress in implementation of the Action Plan 2018-2020; and

3. Present the vision of and roadmap to the 2020 Asia-Pacific Ministerial Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction
