WCDR on-line dialogue: A
solid foundation for progress in the implementation of
disaster risk reduction
730 participants from 107 countries participated in the on-line conference
held 15 June-15 July on priority areas for future action to implement
disaster risk reduction for 2005-2015, in preparation for the WCDR. The
dialogue generated a global discussion between government representatives,
experts and interested stakeholders on reducing vulnerability to natural
hazards, providing solid inputs to the discussions and outcomes of the
WCDR towards setting the global disaster reduction agenda for the next
10 years.
The summary report of the on-line conference is available at http://www.unisdr.org/WCDR-dialogue/
WCDR
logo
The official WCDR logo (in six languages and in varying formats) is now
available for use by any organization wishing to use the logo for illustrative
or information purposes related to the Conference, including placement
on websites or weblinks. Organizations wishing to use the logo must first
obtain permission from the United Nations through the WCDR secretariat.
The logo is composed of two elements: globe and lines. The globe represents
the fact that disasters can affect us all, no matter who or where we
are. The curving lines represent a disaster-affected globe, and the regular
parallel lines symbolize order brought about by actions aiming at disaster
reduction.
To download and access guidelines for use of the logo, please refer to http://www.unisdr.org/eng/wcdr/logo/wcdr-logo.htm
