The United Nations Office of Internal Oversight Services (OIOS) conducted an audit of the governance and organizational structure of the inter-agency secretariat to the United Nations International Strategy for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNISDR). The overall objective of the audit was to determine whether the governance and organizational structure of the ISDR secretariat adequately served its mandated objectives and functions. The audit was conducted in accordance with the International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing.
The report outlines the audit objective, scope and methodology, in addition to detailing findings and recommendations regarding functions and organization, delegation of authority, partnership with private sector, and funding arrangements.
The Fourth Session of the Global Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction will take place in Geneva, Switzerland in May 2013.
