The Manila call for action of Parliamentarians on disaster risk reduction and climate change adaptation

UNISDR consultative meeting with Parlementarians: Making disaster risk reduction a toll for climate adaptation, Manila, Philippines, 17-18 October 2008

This paper calls on the governments of every nation to make disaster risk reduction (DRR) the first line of defense in responding to the impacts of climate change. It was the outcome of the first global Consultative Meeting of Parliamentarians on linking Climate Change Adaptation with DRR, which concluded in Manila on 18 October 2008. The meeting was co-convened by Senator Loren Legarda of the Philippines, UNIDSR and GLOBE.
