International day for disaster reduction 2008

This brochure features the 2008 campaign emphasis on critical infrastructure with a new focus on making hospitals and health facilities safe from disaster. As part of the new World Disaster Reduction Campaign 2008-2009: Hospitals Safe from Disasters, UNISDR Secretariat is working closely with the World Health Organization, with support from the World Bank, to reduce risk, protect health facilities and save lives.

The International Day for Disaster Reduction aims to raise the profile of disaster risk reduction and encourage every citizen and government to take part in building more resilient communities and nations.
