Rethinking capacity development for disaster risk reduction: action 2005-2015

This report documents the proceedings from a three-day global meeting on the topic 'Rethinking Capacity Development for Disaster Risk Reduction: Action 2005-2015'. The report effectively chronicles the Future Search methodology and process that was utilised to structure the meeting's discussions. The report effectively captures the rich dialogue that progressively evolved over the three days, that resulted in a new consensus on what capacity development means for disaster risk reduction and how to improve on the results of such efforts in the future.

This report inform a much broader audience on the challenges and processes for integrating capacity development concerns and issues into all aspects of disaster risk reduction, including the Hyogo Framework for Action.
