Educational kit on natural disaster risk reduction

This kit has been developed with the view to enhancing the coping capabilities of disaster prone communities in the Arab States region as well as the dissemination of the technical knowledge in natural disaster reduction to build the capacities of educational institutions, students, and teachers, associations working in disaster issues, NGOs and trainers. It comprises: an overview book on natural disasters, a booklet on preparedness and response, a children's booklet, and a poster on the content of a first aid emergency bag together with two posters on how to mitigate earthquakes and flood risk.

The kit was produced by the UNESCO Regional office for Science and Technology for the Arab Countries in collaboration with the International Strategy for Disaster Reduction Regional Office for Arab States (UNISDR ROAS) in Cairo, Egypt.
