Advancing implementation of the Hyogo Framework for Action (HFA) in Asia and the Pacific 2009-2015

Implementing the Asian Ministerial Declarations on disaster risk reduction (DRR) adopted at the three Asian Ministerial Conferences on Disaster Risk Reduction (AMCDRRs) 2005, 2007, 2008:

The purpose of this document is to advance the implementation of the Hyogo Framework for Action (HFA) in the Asia Pacific countries by the National Governments with support from their development cooperation partners, through the following specific objectives: (i) support HFA implementation around selected Actions prioritized by the three AMCDRRs hosted by the Government of China, India and Malaysia in 2005, 2007 and 2008; (ii) guide national governments and other in country stakeholders in selecting calls for action in Kuala Lumpur, Delhi and Beijing Declaration and implementing them; (iii) guide regional action in support of national actions; and (iv) provide concrete tools, undertaken advocacy campaign and enhance the enabling environment.
