UNIDNDR and QUIPUNET internet conference:

This document lists the proceedings of an internet conference which provided extensive networking among approximately 450 participants, and a forum for global debate on eight specific topics related to urban disaster mitigation. The parallel world wide web site attracted about 82,000 visits in the two-month conference period. Participants were able to assess contributions and follow up on subjects as diverse as social vulnerability in Tokyo, early warning and telecommunications issues in western Canada, and community participation techniques for fire prevention in Australia.
