Aim

This workshop aims to build the capacity and understanding of Incheon Honorary Citizen Diplomats Association members about the UN Office for Disaster Risk Reduction, disaster risk in Incheon Metropolitan City, the Making Cities Resilient global campaign, and how volunteers and civil society can contribute to disaster risk reduction in their local districts.

Programme

The programme includes:

  • An Introduction to Disaster Risk Reduction and Tools for Resilience

  • A 'Hazard Hunt' - identifying risks, preparedness and risk reduction actions in the Incheon City districts (gu)

Outcome

Participants learnt about the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction and the role that volunteers and citizens can play to support Incheon City’s participation in the global UNISDR Making Cities Resilient: ‘My city is getting ready!’ disaster resilience campaign.
