Wildfire 2013 - the first to take place in Wales – will feature a range of conference sessions, workshops, field trips, equipment demonstrations and networking opportunities to make it the “must go” event in 2013 for all those involved in the prevention and suppression of wildfires. The focus is on the practical, informed by the best knowledge and experience from around the world.

The programme covers a range of topics from developing wildfire strategies to the management of controlled burns.

Speakers will explore experiences from across the UK and further afield in order to take advantage of best practice from around the world. The emphasis will be on the practical i.e. skills that people can take away and use in their job, whether that is risk management, working with partners or managing a burn site. The workshops are arranged so delegates can choose subjects relevant to their own situation whilst benefiting from the overarching issues addressed through the plenary sessions. A Field Trip will look at best practice on the ground plus a simulated control room exercise which, by showing how Fire and Rescue Services manage wildfire events, will help other agencies and land managers to work more effectively with them.
