On behalf of the Government of Zimbabwe, the Meteorological Services Department (MSD) takes pleasure in inviting you to participate in the First Climate Science Symposium of Zimbabwe which will be held at Cresta Lodge, Msasa, Harare from 19 to 21 June 2013. The MSD will host this conference so as to create a forum through which meteorologists, climatologists and scientists can share findings on the science of past, present and future climate in particular of Zimbabwe and for the SADC region in general. Climate change is a topical issue on the global agenda and of concern to Zimbabwe hence the move to discuss the science of climate change. This will hopefully guide impact studies as well as mitigation measures and national adaption programmes.

Symposium theme: “Life in a changing climate”

Symposium sub-themes:

  • Climate variability and change (past, present and future)
  • Climate prediction and indigenous knowledge systems
