Coastal Dynamics is a sister conference of the Coastal Sediments Series in the USA and is held every four years, typically in Europe although in 2009 in Japan. The Coastal Dynamics conference Series advances the community's understanding of recent applied and basic research concerning coastal waves and currents, interactions between wind, water and sediments, and morphology changes in the coastal zone. A wide range of environments (with and without structures) are considered such as sandy, rocky, and muddy coasts, inlets, and estuaries. The conference documents research and applications treating these coastal dynamics at the short, medium, and large/long spatial and temporal scales.
Coastal processes span a wide range of temporal and spatial scales with complex and nonlinear interactions. The organizers especially solicit papers that integrate or aggregate spatial/temporal scales and explore the coupling between different processes to respond to practical coastal applications.
Approaches include theoretical formulations, field and laboratory observations, and numerical simulations... Participants are invited to submit papers on :
* Coastal hydrodynamics (waves, tides, storm surge ...)
* Coastal sediment transport & morphodynamics
* Coastal environmental problems and marine ecology
* Observational techniques and results (field and lab)
* Numerical simulation (models and results)
* Miscellaneous coastal dynamics
