Barbados: Celebration of the International Day for Disaster Reduction

UNDP for Barbados and the Organisation of the Eastern Caribbean States, in collaboration with UN Women, the Department of Emergency Management and the Caribbean Disaster Emergency Management Agency is launching the International Day for Disaster Reduction commemoration event in Barbados

The role of girls and women will be highlighted as well as gender issues through presentations and discussions.  In addition the girls of the Christ Church Brownie Unit will perform a dramatic piece entitled "Resilience" highlighting the important role of girls and women in the Disaster Risk Reduction.

This event will also provide an opportunity to celebrate the contribution of women in Disaster Risk Reduction in the region through picture and powerpoint display resent the winning song.
