The day long seminar will look at the recent significant changes in the way our marine environment and flood risk will be managed in the future. The seminar will examine how the newly formed Marine Management Organisation will help to develop an integrated marine planning system to manage the sustainable development of our seas. The seminar will also consider the important relationships between marine planning and traditional land based plan-making and decision-taking processes. The day will then examine the planning systems critical role in delivering the sustainable management of flood risk under the NPPF. It will consider the key considerations in managing flood risk and look at the implications of the transferal of responsibilities on flood risk from the Environment Agency to lead local flood authorities.
