Background
Our changing climatic circumstances pose a huge challenge to achieving sustainable and equitable development especially for the poorest and most vulnerable sectors of society, especially women. These unprecedented climate changes are projected to make significant impacts on the lives and livelihoods of people and society as a whole which can manifest itself in a number of ways, for example, in terms of health and well being, migration, community development, gender inequality and human rights, food and nutrition security. There is now a pressing and overwhelming need to identify and develop the right policies, strategies and mechanisms to address these impacts. One of the key topics includes: Climate Adaptation and Mitigation
The ICRD/ GCU joint Conference on CCSI 2012 offers a valuable opportunity to network with colleagues from many countries who share the same goals. Scientists and experts in climate change and social issues are invited to participate in this International Conference on CCSI 2012
