Background
Effective design and implementation of disaster risk reduction requires strong institutions at local, sub-national and national level and effective inter-institutional collaboration and coordination between all stakeholders including the community. Through the community managed disaster risk reduction (CMDRR) approach, IIRR links relief to development processes. This monitoring and evaluation course will focus on how to develop SMART indicators using the CMDRR framework, how to collect, analyze this information for learning that will assist in improved community resilience and effective and efficient emergency responses.
