The Global Assessment Report (GAR) is a biennial global assessment of disaster risk reduction and comprehensive review and analysis of the natural hazards that are affecting humanity.

UNISDR develop these basic definitions on disaster risk reduction to promote a common understanding on the subject for use by the public, authorities and practitioners.
