The WCDR will be composed of three main processes, namely an intergovernmental segment; a thematic segment for knowledge exchange; and a forum for public participation. The Conference will take place in the Portopia Hotel and the adjoining International Conference Center, Kobe and the Kobe International Exhibition Halls, in Kobe, Hyogo Prefecture.
The submission of the application form for exhibition booths is closed as of the deadline, 31st of August.

Expected exhibitors:
Local or National Governments, Academic institutions, Scientific institutions, Private Sector, NGOs etc., which have been engaged in disaster reduction activities

Possible themes could include but not restricted to:
Exhibits relating to disaster reduction, such as Aid for disaster victims, emergency medical treatment, economic reconstruction, disaster-management training, international cooperation, disaster-management activities by local residents, voluntary disaster-management activities, disaster-management research, earthquake disaster countermeasures technology, etc.

Fees
The fee per booth is JPY 315,000 (including consumption tax) for a space 3,000mm x 3,000mm with partition panels, a desk and 2 pipe chairs (for the five-day period).

Note: This is the Basic Booth Fee only. Fixture installation and additional material and equipment will incur extra charges (as a general rule, exhibitors requiring fixture installation and extra material and equipment will be asked to order these from the official contractors designated locally).

Fees and method of payment will be notified with application results (by the end of October 2004).

Note: The local entities supporting the organization of the conference will have electrical wiring and main power switch installed in the position specified by exhibitors.

    Applications must be submitted by using the Application Form B to the e-mail address on the Form.

Application deadline
31 August 2004. The applications received after this date will not be accepted.

Processing of applications
Based on the number of requests, availability of space and time, and the information supplied by the applicants, the Secretariat of the WCDR, in close consolation with the local planning committee of the host government authority, will make the final selection. Successful applicants will receive information on the allocation of venue of the proposed exhibition.
