The main objective of Kyrgyzstan National Platform is to establish effective disaster risk management mechanism, develop and integrate program-targeted risk reduction activities into the national country development programs.

NP DRR is targeted to advance and implement DRR policies at all levels, coordination, analysis and consultation in the key sectors, which require joint and coordinated actions involving all parties.

NP DRR will provide for a process to involve all parties, including state authorities, local administrations, international organizations, non-government organizations, civil society.

The Secretariat has been established to provide organizational and technical support for the Inter-ministerial Commission on Civil Protection of the Kyrgyz Republic, which includes the heads of ministries, state committees and administrative agencies in order to address issues of interaction of this commission, and support for the Disaster Response Coordination Unit, which is represented by international organizations and civil society.
