IRP was conceived at the World Conference on Disaster Reduction (WCDR) in Kobe, Hyogo, Japan in January 2005. As a thematic platform of the ISDR system, IRP is a key pillar for the implementation of the Hyogo Framework for Action (HFA).

国際復興支援プラットフォーム(IRP)は、2005年1月、兵庫県神戸市で開催された世界防災会議において構想されました。復興に関するISDRの分野別プラットフォームとして、IRPは兵庫行動枠組の実施の柱のひとつとなっています。

To facilitate interactions among different stakeholders, the Asia Regional Task Force on Urban Risk Reduction, established in a meeting in Kobe, Japan in January 2008, is coordinated by the UNISDR Hyogo Office in Kobe.

The mission of ICHARM is to serve as the Centre of Excellence to provide and assist implementation of best practicable strategies to localities, nations, regions, and the globe to manage the risk of water related disasters.

ICHARMの使命は、世界の水関連災害を防止・軽減するために、各地域の実態をふまえた的確な戦略を提供し、その実践を支援する世界的な拠点としての役割を果たすことです。

The International Consortium on Landslides (ICL) created at the Kyoto Symposium in January 2002 is an International non-governmental and non-profit scientific organization, which is supported by UNESCO,WMO,FAO,UNISDR, and intergovernmental programmes such as the International Hydrological Programme of UNESCO; the Government of Japan; and other governmental bodies.

2002 年1 月京都シンポジウムにおいて設立された国際斜面災害研究機構は、国際的な非政府・非営利組織であり、ユネスコ、世界気象機関、国連世界食糧農業機関、国連国際防災戦略事務局、及びユネスコ国際水文学計画のような政府間研究計画、日本及びその他各国政府の援助を受ける。

During CADRR (Cooperative Actions for Disaster Risk Reduction) held in Tokyo in March 2009, the participations of the representatives from IAWE, IAEE, UNISDR, ADRC, WMO, NOAA and others reached a consensus that there is a critical need to establish an International Group (IG) to work on Wind-Related DRR.

2009年3月に開催された各種災害リスク低減のためのシンポジウムにおいて、国際風工学会、国際地震工学会、国連国際防災戦略事務局、アジア防災センター、世界気象機関、米国・国立海洋大気圏局などの参加者らは、風害に携わる国際グループを設立する高い必要性があるという合意に至りました。
