Description
The shortcourse will provide a comprehensive discussion of geotechnical engineering procedures and methodologies for landslide hazards. The course will begin with a review of fundamental landslide basic mechanisms and effects, such as triggering mechanisms, regional landslide hazards in Romania, and a summary of current landslide research projects. Coverage will also include landslide stability analysis techniques and landslide mitigation measures. Of particular importance, the course will cover landslide modeling techniques, such as finite element methods, and case histories. Although more geotechnical in focus, the course will also cover important non-engineering concepts and is designed for engineers, geologists, and other related personnel.
