Summary on the workshop
Background & Objectives
The Cairo Regional Workshop, jointly organized by the UN/ISDR and the World Bank, and with the kind support of the Government of Arab Republic of Egypt, has been the first event in a series, aimed at launching a longer-term regional partnership to promote an integrated approach to Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) including Hazard Risk Management (HRM), prevention, and recovery.
The Workshop was held also as a follow up to the World Conference on Disaster Reduction, Kobe, Japan, 18-22 January 2005, and to support the implementation of the Hyogo Framework for Action (HFA) adopted by the Kobe Conference.
