	Adaptation to Climate Change by Reducing Disaster Risks: Country Practices and Lessons Briefing Note 2 reports on examples of recent experience in eight countries where national and local governments and civil society participants have worked to strengthen their disaster risk reduction and adaptation actions.
	Climate Change and Disaster Risk Reduction Briefing Note 1 outlines the nature and significance of climate change for disaster risk, as well as the main perspectives and approaches of disaster risk reduction and how they can support adaptation strategies.
	2009 Global Assessment Report on Disaster Risk Reduction: Risk and poverty in a changing climate The Report is the first biennial global assessment of disaster risk reduction prepared in the context of the International Strategy for Disaster Reduction (ISDR). The ISDR, launched in 2000, provides a framework to coordinate actions to address disaster risks at the local, national, regional and international levels.
	Adaptation to climate change: linking disaster risk reduction and insurance This paper is an initial attempt to consider the role in adaptation of insurance and related risk sharing and risk transfer methods, in the context of a comprehensive approach to risk reduction and risk management. It is the result of informal conversations at Poznan between members of the United Nations International Strategy for Disaster Reduction Secretariat (UNISDR) and the Munich Climate Insurance Initiative (MCII).
	Drought risk reduction framework and practices: contributing to the implementation of the Hyogo Framework for Action This document elaborates a framework for understanding drought and vulnerability to drought, and provides guidance on actions to reduce the risks associated with drought. It discusses drought policy and governance, risk identification and early warning, awareness and knowledge management, and effective mitigation and preparedness measures.
	ISDR system views on progress in adaptation This paper has been submitted by the ISDR system following a request by the UNFCCC's Subsidiary Body for Implementation (SBI) on views on actions and activities addressing the adverse effects of climate change and to assist in the assessment of the status of implementation.
