  • The ASEAN Knowledge Sharing Workshop on Mainstreaming Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) in Education will be held back-to-back with the Malaysia National Launch of One Million Safe Schools and Hospitals Campaign and Resilient Cities Campaign.

    The two-day regional workshop is aimed to build capacities of ASEAN Member States in mainstreaming DRR in the education sector through the sharing of best practices and lessons learned. The workshop will also enable participants to assess the state of the art of mainstreaming DRR in education in the ASEAN region, as well as identify key areas (e.g. policy, strategy, implementation process, materials development, teacher training, others) and performance targets that are adaptable to the region.

  • Target audience

  • The workshop will be attended by representatives of the Ministry of Education from each ASEAN Member State; focal points of the ASEAN Committee on Disaster Management (ACDM); and representatives from the ASEAN Secretariat and other international, regional, & partner organizations.
