Disaster deaths and economic losses jump in 20082008 saw a marked increase in the number of deaths and economic losses compared to the 2000-2007 yearly average, according to the Center for Research on Epidemiology of Disasters (CRED) which released the new figures today in Geneva at a joint press conference with UNISDR. |
