UN/ISDR, IFRC and AASTMT is arranging the First Consultative Meeting for Community Based Disaster Risk Reduction in the West Asia, Middle East and North African region. The resent events of Myanmar and China are illustrating the need to reduce the risk of disasters to occur and be prepared. In this region environmental degradation and climate change are causing and will cause even more challenges for the communities. IFRC and UN/ISDR would like to build on the positive trends which are existing in the region and strengthen collaboration between the regional stakeholders.
